Match Report
Lord Wandsworth College Boys-U14C vs  Seaford College
On: Saturday, 25 Feb 2023
Venue: at Home

The U14C team earned their first win of the season against an evenly matched Seaford College side. After losing a number of tight games their luck finally changed. In truth they were more clinical when it mattered and managed to take a couple of opportunities whilst Seaford could not.

Much of the fist half was played in the LWC half, but organised defending led by Donnie L and Ben B restricted Seaford's time in the D. when LWC did manage to break the speed of Alex S and the industry of Robbie I and Oliver M caused the opponents problems. As the half progressed LWC were able to mount more attacks and from one of these the ball fell fortuitously at the feet of Alex S who turned it into the goal for a 1-0 lead that was taken through to half-time.

The second half was very similar to the first. Both sides manged some good link up play in the middle third and on occasion were able to maintain possession into the opposition D. both sides forced short corners and from one, LWC scored. Robbie I striking hard and low to the keepers left to stun all. It was then a question as to whether LWC could hold out as Seaford were also posing more of a goal threat. A number of very good saves from the excellent Henry Fox ensured the threat proved no more than that. When the final whistle sounded few would argue that LWC did not deserved the win.
