A 1-1 draw was fair in terms of the defensive resilience shown by KES but in terms of pressure and goalmouth action, LWC should have prevailed. As was the case last week, play was concentrated for large period around one teams goal. This week it was LWC applying the pressure. the game can be summed up by the story of two goalkeepers. One under pressure perhaps 5 times and beaten once by a well executed short corner and another called upon countless times making save after save in the process.
This was a much more cohesive performance from LWC, spurred on by excellent performances from Seb B, Harry P and Wilbur T, not to mention industry from the rest of the side. LWC were able to dominate the middle of the field and created chance from the first whistle. KES did have some play and took the lead from a well worked short corner. Thereafter it was mostly LWC in attack with the odd break from KES. Unfortunately the goal did not come. It was as if LWC pressed high up the field, preventing the space KES needed to clear the ball from defense, even from 16 m hits. there followed relentless LWC pressure against an excellent goalkeeping performance. Solid shots from a number of players, a deft chip from Wilbur T and impressive short corners routines all went close. Finally with minutes to go Harry P brought the game level. There was one last chance from a penalty corner but 1-1 seemed fair.
